Psychodynamic Therapy in Westwood
Our office is on San Vicente at Montana in Brentwood, a short drive from UCLA and Westwood Village. Every clinician on our team sees clients in person Monday through Friday, and online anywhere in California.
Therapy for individuals & couples and adult ADHD assessment and diagnosis
The work gets done, and what it costs tends to go unexamined until something gives.
Therapy for Westwood
Most of the people who reach out to us from Westwood are carrying more than one thing at once. A graduate student is finishing a dissertation while quietly doubting whether the field was ever theirs, or a couple in an apartment off Wilshire keeps having the same argument in slightly different words.
We are a group of six therapists led by a clinical psychologist, and our work is psychodynamic and relational. In plain terms, we are interested in the patterns underneath what brought you in, and we believe the relationship between you and your therapist is where those patterns change. You can see us in person at our Brentwood office or online from wherever you are in California.

Couples therapy in Westwood
Couples usually come to us after the same conversation has failed enough times that neither person expects it to go differently. In our work together we slow that conversation down until we can see what each of you is protecting when it turns, because the argument about the dishes, or about whose family gets the holidays, is rarely about the dishes.
Our team of experienced couples therapists meet with couples from Westwood in person in Brentwood and online. Our page on couples therapy at Brentwood Therapy Collective describes how that work begins. If you are not yet sure whether you need couples work or want to start on your own, schedule a consultation and we can help you determine the best path forward.
Anxiety treatment in Westwood
Anxiety in Westwood tends to look competent from the outside. You keep the deadlines and the clinic hours, and the cost shows up at two in the morning, or in a body that will not settle even after the week is done. We treat anxiety as something with a history rather than a malfunction, and in our work together we get curious about what the worry is doing for you and where it learned to do it.
If you are looking for an anxiety therapist in Westwood who works this way, our team of experienced clinicians see anxious high achievers and college students who want a deeper understanding of themselves and need help managing stress and anxiety.
Adult ADHD assessment near UCLA
Many adults first wonder about ADHD in graduate school or in a first demanding job, when the systems that carried them through college stop working. Our psychologists conduct adult ADHD assessments online, which includes an extensive diagnostic interview and a battery of standardized measures, followed by a feedback session where you can ask anything about the written report, which is built to be shared with other providers or with a school.
Because ADHD symptoms overlap with other conditions, part of the assessment is ruling those out. Wait times, the process, and reimbursement are on our adult ADHD testing in Los Angeles page.
Individual therapy that looks underneath the problem
Our approach is psychodynamic and relational, which means two things in practice. We assume that what you are struggling with now has a history, and that the patterns you learned in your earliest relationships are still shaping how you relate to yourself and to the people close to you. And we treat the relationship between you and your therapist as the place where those patterns become visible and can begin to change, rather than as a container for advice.
Sessions run 50 minutes on a weekly basis, and the pace is set together. For clients carrying trauma, we offer EMDR therapy woven into ongoing psychotherapy rather than delivered as a standalone protocol. Our individual therapy page describes this work in more depth.
